About Me

Welcome! So glad you’re here.

My name is Catherine and although I am “mature” in years I still feel like a kid on an adventure as I journey through life. I’m a mother of two sons, a grandmother of five, two boys and three girls, and they are all the loves of my life. Who knew being a grandma could be so much fun!

I am passionate about personal transformation; always have been and always longed for it. But when it finally happened to me in August 2000 it looked a whole lot different than I anticipated it would! I met Jesus. And He transformed my life. Before Christ I sneered at and made fun of Christians. I believed they were all a bunch of dorks – weak-minded and deluded. Now I’m one of those dorks and I know that faith in Christ is not a crutch or a delusion, but a relationship with a Person who is alive and real – today.

I’m not much of a talker most of the time, especially when it comes to chitchat, but I love to have deep conversations about life. If you care to take the time, I have lots of stories to tell you about what I used to be like, what happened, and what I’m like now. And about what I’ve learned a lot along the way, and what I’m learning now. I would love to hear your story too. You can use the comment section at the bottom of the page to share if you care to.

My purpose and my hope in writing this blog is that my stories will encourage you on your own journey and inspire you to see your life from a different point of view: just how precious and unique – and loved – you truly are.

At the present time I keep very busy with various activities in my community. I volunteer at a local resource centre for people living on the margins in our community. We help people who are homeless or impoverished access whatever it is that they need. We provide meals and a safe place for anyone to come and chat and hang out. I’m also a member of our local Healing Rooms team. We pray for people in need of any kind of healing. In the past I have worked with mentally handicapped people, people living on the streets in the Fraser Valley and Vancouver lower mainland area, women in addiction and prostitution, women in prison, and women in recovery. Difficult but very rewarding work.

Because of my passion for God and amazement at what He’s done and is doing in my life and in the lives of others, much of what I write will be about faith and spirituality . If you are a believer – and especially if you’re not – I hope you will join me on this journey of discovery as we seek to learn and grow in the knowledge of who we are and who He is.

God bless you!
