I asked the Lord to speak to me and saw the image of an upturned hand. I sensed I was supposed to lift my own hand and position it palm up and as I did the Lord placed what looked like a glass sphere in my hand.
“Thank You for the gift, Poppa,” I said aloud. “What does it mean?”
As I beheld the sphere it began to take on colour. Orange first, like the sun, and then a myriad of colours as if it was reflecting the world around it.
I sensed that something very precious resided inside the sphere and as I continued to watch, it grew bigger and bigger until it became large enough for me to step inside – and I did.
The surface of the sphere was soft and permeable like a membrane and as I stepped through it, it closed up again behind me. I floated weightless inside the bubble feeling safe and secure as if in a womb. As I rested into its peace and silence I saw the bubble, with me inside, resting gently in the palm of God’s hand.
I was reminded of the panic and anxiety I had experienced as I tried to travel home a few days before. Flight delays, last minute gate changes, and miles-long newly renovated wings in two huge airports made it virtually impossible – not to mention incredibly frustrating – for me to be on time to catch my flights. After narrowly missing my connecting flight home I chose to sit in the airport pouting and worrying and feeling sorry for myself instead of seeking God’s solace and peace while I waited the four long hours until the next departing flight.
I asked God what He was trying to tell me through the image of the bubble and heard:
“Daughter, I love you. The bubble is a place that is available to you always. It is My presence, My peace and My protection. I surround you on all sides. Nothing can hurt you when you are in the bubble.
“When you dwell outside of it all you see is the world around you. But when you enter into My presence the things of the world become dim, and your awareness is of My love and My protection.
“Come, my child, and dwell in the place of My presence – the secret place – where you are hidden and protected from the things of the world. I will uphold you by My righteous right hand. Be still and know Me.”
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am Your God. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 40:10-11
