They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Most of the time when I ask God to speak to me I see an image first and then I ask Him to help me understand what it is He is trying to say.

One evening as I sat before the Lord I asked if there was anything He wanted to say to me and the image of an unusual sculpture that sits atop a windy hill in Lancashire England came into my mind. I had seen a picture of it a few days before on the internet. The sculpture is called The Singing Ringing Tree because it is not just a sculpture for the eyes, but also for the ears. It’s constructed of numerous pipes of varying lengths and when the wind blows over it it releases an unearthly, ethereal sound.

I remembered a word the Lord had spoken to me last August. He had instructed me to “adorn my ears”, to honour them, saying that through them I was going to hear His instruction. He said, “I am calling to myself all those who will listen.” He also told me, “There is a sound coming upon the earth…”

I asked my Heavenly Father why He was showing me this sculpture. I heard: “You are like that sculpture, Daughter. You are sensitive to the moving of My Spirit, and as the sculpture sings in the wind, so you let people know when My Spirit is moving. I am going to use you. Do not be afraid to share what you see My Spirit doing.”

As I pondered His words I realized that this word is not just for myself. The Singing Ringing Tree is made up of many parts, and so is the Body of Christ. On the day of Pentecost, as described in Acts Chapter Two, there was a sound that came upon the earth in Jerusalem which caused thousands of people to run to see what was happening. This sound was more than just the 120 believers speaking in foreign tongues as the Holy Spirit came to rest on them and fill them. It was the sound, “as of a rushing wind”, the unearthly, ethereal sound of heaven invading earth. As the wind of the Holy Spirit blew across these believers it released a sound that caused a great commotion in the city and  three thousand of the people who ran to investigate became believers and entered into the Kingdom of God that day.

The sound that is coming upon the earth is not just for one particular city or one group of people; the sound that is to come will be heard all around the world as followers of Christ and lovers of The One True God receive and respond to the heavenly wind of the Holy Spirit.

Get ready! Adorn your ears, for the Lord of All has something He wants to say to you. He is calling to Himself all those who will listen. And as each one rejoices in response to the moving of His Spirit, we will be contributing our part, our harmony, to the global chorus of God’s redeemed – the singing ringing tree tree of life – as we praise and worship the One True God, the Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

There is a sound coming upon the earth…

1When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
