While working a group study with the women of my church recently, I asked God this question as the workbook instructed: “If You were to give me a new name to reflect Your promises to me, what would it be?”
The answer I got was, “The Lion Queen.”
For some reason, hearing this name made me cry. I asked, “Why that name? What does it mean? And why does it make me cry?” and heard:
“Daughter, you have overcome so much hurt and pain and fear and adversity. I know that you feel small and weak but you are fierce and strong and regal.
“You are a queen in my eyes and I have given you My sceptre. You have authority, yet you wield it with meekness and compassion. I have given you a crown to show that you are my daughter and the representative of my love and my power.
“This is who you really are.”
After a long season of pruning and adversity, I feel blessed and grateful for this encouraging and affirming word. Thank You, Poppa.
Blessed is a woman who perseveres under trial; for once she has been approved, she will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. James 1:12
